A private tour with WeVenture NYC is always a completely custom itinerary, created just for you and your group! A private city walking tour of New York City can be from 2 hours - 8 hours, depending on the destination. While many visitors to New York have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around the five boroughs of New York City, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.
No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group's interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:
Highlights Tour
Explore an elevated green space in the heart of New York City and a global food hall on this 2-3–hour walking tour. Your Highlights experience includes a stroll along the High Line, a strip of nature rising above the city streets atop a former railroad viaduct. You’ll learn about the history of the structure, its carefully constructed ecosystem, and some of the surrounding buildings serving as its backdrop.
We’ll dive into the history of the neighborhood as well and see the transition of the Meatpacking District from industrial to trendy.
Your local guide will also introduce you to the historic Chelsea Market, where you’ll have the chance to try food from around the world!
Half-Day Tour
Our half-day option (4-5 hours) gives you more time to enjoy both the High Line and Market, with a chance to include tastings of local cuisine.
Your guide will let you in on the best local spots to try out typical city eats, like New York-style pizza, excellent Asian and Middle Eastern dishes, and desserts so good you’ll want to take home the recipe…or at least more dessert!
Full-Day Tour
Our 6-8–hour option allows you to really soak in all of the history and culture of Chelsea/Meatpacking District. We’ll delve into the full picture of the Meatpacking District’s redevelopment and spend as much time as you’d like getting a better taste of the Chelsea Market, enjoying everything from artisanal bread and baked goods to Mexican- and Japanese-inspired street eats.
We’ll be able to build in more time to further explore the emergence of progressive American art at the Whitney Museum of American Art – a renowned museum containing thousands of works by contemporary American artists, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, video, and photography – and take in picturesque views of the nearby Hudson River.
From here, you’re in the perfect place to continue exploring the waterfront and its uniquely designed piers or head back to the High Line towards Chelsea for some shopping and art gallery browsing based on your guide’s recommendations
