The Mardi Gras Experience
General Itinerary
A private tour with WeVenture New Orleans is always a completely custom itinerary, created just for you and your group! A private tour of New Orleans can be from 2 hours - 8 hours, depending on the destination. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the group’s choice. While many visitors to New Orleans have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around the city, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.
No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group's interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:
Highlights Tour: A 2-3–hour tour will give us just enough time to scrape the surface of Mardi Gras traditions and culture in New Orleans, and we can start at the Louisiana State Museum. You’ll go behind the scenes here to learn all about the rich history of “Fat Tuesday” and the craft behind the fabulous floats and costumes carefully made for the celebrations. Follow your local guide into the historic French Quarter to get a taste of Creole New Orleans at one of the century-old dining establishments along the way.
Half-Day Tour: With an extended option (4-6 hours), we’ll have a chance to explore another neighborhood of NOLA, like the beautiful mansion-lined Garden District. Nearby, Mardi Gras World is a must-visit to see the massive warehouse where complex parade floats are constructed. We can also maximize our time in and around the French Quarter with a walk down the famous Bourbon Street and a visit to the largest personal collection of Mardi Gras costumes in the city! Learn all about the various krewes who work hard year-round to put together parade showstoppers for the Carnival parade and celebrations.
Full-Day Tour: An all-day experience (up to 8 hours) allows you to arrange a very unique New Orleans experience with us or simply give us more time to explore the city, its history, and excellent culinary scene.
For those celebrating a significant event, our team can arrange for your very own Second Line parade, with beads, brass band, and plenty of joie de vivre. Alternatively, let us book you on a cruise down the Mississippi River, with live jazz and cocktails.
