About your host
I am a kanaka (Hawaiian) born and raised on Maui. I've seen the good and bad of these islands, and I've also lived it.
In 2013, I graduated from a prestigious Hawaiian school, which helped in my understanding of the corruption not only here at home but all over the world.
What we'll do
Step through time as you are immersed in stories of Hawaiʻi from the year 500 to present day, and learn of what truly lies "beyond paradise."
Storytelling is a Hawaiian tradition as our language was originally a spoken language / oral. Missionaries later introduced the writing system that we use today. This truly is a unique opportunity to spend time with a native Hawaiian and to learn about our kingdom, it's history, and our culture.
